You need a complete circuit for making electricity

Current: Flow of electrons

  • measured with an ammeter
  • size of current is the rate at which charge is flowing
  • Charge (Q) is measured in Coulombs (C - 6.25x108 electrons p/s)
  • Current (I) is measured in Amperes (A)
  • I (current) = Q (Charge)/t (time)

Ammeter: measures flow of electrons

  • must be placed in a series circuit
  • has low resistance, so if in parralel circuit, current would flow through it and not bulb, because current takes the route with the least resistance.
